Ibrahim Najm, who also serves as secretary general of the World Fatwa Council, added that the Fatwas are issued in 12 languages, al-Watan reported.
He made the remark while addressing an international conference on fighting extremism and terrorism.
The conference is underway in Singapore from April 13 to 18 with the participation of 40 countries.
Najm further highlighted the role of the World Fatwa Council in issuing Fatwas, saying the council’s approach is based on moderation and away from superficiality.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Najm stressed the need for establishing a center for studying extremism in order to better confront extremist ideas and promote peace.
He also called on the media and governments to be more careful in their approach to religious scholars.
He went on to say that true religion is capable of offering solutions for the challenges facing the world.
